Improv 101 – Monday evenings 4-5:30pm $120 

Prerequisite: None *No experience necessary. Class Size: maximum 16

Have fun with original exercises that guide you in this experience of pure spontaneity and creativity.

  • Play games like Mirror and Freeze Tag.
  • Learn how to use your body in new ways, to get in sync with each other and the group.
  • You’ll make up stories, on the spot, and discover how the principle of “Yes, and” leads to satisfying collaboration.
  • You’ll find out how easy it is to be creative when you engage in theater play.  

Improv 201 – Monday evenings 6-8:00 pm $160

Prerequisite: Some experience.  Class Size: maximum 16

This intermediate class continues the basic exercises and scene work from the 101 version and adds group scenes and long-form improv. 

  • Areas of focus include character development, physical comedy, and further exploration of the process of adding information to create stories.
  • This workshop helps you let go of preconceptions and discover your particular talents and areas of joy.
  • Learn to trust your impulses, to find ease in not knowing, and to collaborate with others in the creation of moment-to-moment theater pieces.

Cheryl King’s improvisation classes are well-known to students across the US – from NYC to LA. She assisted Gary Austin (founder of the Groundlings, LA) in his workshops for most of the early 2000s and has experience in both long and short-form improv.
