Watercolor for Scaredy Cats™ Beginners Level

Ideal for Beginners: watercolor painting and the joy of mixing colors. Play and become comfortable with using watercolors, Receive individual guidance from Lorna, in a positive and encouraging environment.

We all start out as scaredy cats – until we understand a blank page simply invites adventure. By putting color on brush and brush on paper, an exciting and beautiful journey has begun. Together, let’s enjoy, experiment, and embrace the magnificent abundance of color and hue at our fingertips. There are no mistakes and no going back. Remember all art is simply the artist’s interpretation.

Class 1: Discussion and demonstration of materials: Water, paint, paper, brushes. Also, using pencils, crayons and pens.

Class 2: Color- primary and secondary colors and how to mix, blend, lighten and darken.

Class 3: Line, composition and shapes: Types of lines, using composition and shapes

Class 4: Putting it all together. Some fun techniques like scraping, masking, splattering, and etc.
